Background:
The patient is a 62 year old male patient with a diagnosis of bladder cancer from June 2006. He has a history of kidney transplant in August 2004, and a secondary of Nephrosclerosis renal failure. He was diagnosed when he went for his routine examination of the kidney. An ultrasound reported changes in the bladder tissue suggesting cancer. He received 3 sessions of local chemotherapy on the bladder with a poor response. September 24, 2007, sonogram reported an abnormal enlarged bladder wall of 12 mm.
Treatment and conclusion:
The patient received SonoPhotoDynamic Therapy for 8 days. October 1, 2007, sonogram reported bladder wall decreased to 5 mm. This represents a decrease in the interstitial bladder wall cancer of more than 40%.
